Cafes (that I visited) in Taiwan - Part 1

Hi guys, this is going to be a post on the cafes that I visited (and remember) going to in Taiwan from my previous 3 trips to Taiwan. But since I have a bad memory, I can't really remember the prices and details, pardon me for that.

The cafe scene in Taiwan is without say pretty fun to explore. There's like cafes everywhere!

Here goes!

HELLO KITTY SWEETS

One of the cafe that is really cute and popular in Taiwan got to be Hello Kitty Sweets. I told myself it was a must-go place in Taiwan since I do like hello kitty and which girl doesn't likes cute stuff huh!

From what I know, there's only one branch is Taipei! If I didn't remember wrongly, the nearest MRT station is at Zhongxiao Fuxing Station. Exit from exit 3, it's of walking distance. We pretty much just anyhow walk according to our instinct and ask around for directions. Should be no more than 10 minutes walk!

*Cues girly screams* Everything from the exterior to decal to the desserts ; to even the toilet screams cuteness. I can only imagine how a crazy hello kitty fan will react if they visit the cafe!

As we didn't have any prior reservation and it was a weekend, we were informed by the staff that as the place was fully booked or something like that, we can only order the desserts. They serve both cooked food i.e proper meal and desserts. But due to the lack of reservation, we were limited to only ordering their desserts!

And I think we also have a time limit of 90 minutes to finish our desserts due to reservations at later timing!

Anyway, so here's some photos of the cafe. There's two floors if I'm not wrong, we were brought up to the second level.

Y SO CUTE

even the ceiling is decorated with cutie kitty

oh my mama
haiyo even the chair is decorated with hello kitty

Kitty milk pudding! I think this is free of charge since they serve this to everyone.
Not a fan of pudding though heh.

hi kitty I'm gonna eat you up

I ordered some floral tea and tiramisu whereas mummy ordered some fruit tea plus chocolate cake! I can't remember the exact name of the desserts but it was some fancy name like chocolate dome for mum's cake I think.

Anyway, be prepared to wait for the food to be served! We waited approx 30 minutes before our desserts were served.

Desserts were pretty okay, in fact not bad! Before going, I kind of was expecting the food to not taste good (but still went anyway cos it's cute) since a lot of people who went before said that. Pretty much a pleasant surprise when we tasted it. Or maybe because I'm not that picky.

Tiramisu that I ordered!

Mum's chocolate cake!

Here's some pictures of the toilet that I risked looking like a perv taking pictures of.

Overall, the cafe experience was pretty okay! But one thing I don't like is that there's a minimum spending per person. In fact, quite a number of cafes we visited requires a minimum spending / pax. And that was quite foreign to us since I haven't met any cafe / restaurant that requires us to do so.

In the case scenario that you have a small appetite and prefer to share / wants something light for dessert, this kind of sucks since you are pretty much forced into ordering something.

If I'm not wrong, we spent around $30 plus for the two of us? I would say it's a reasonable sum considering how instagram-worthy the desserts and place is! Seeing the cute hello kitty deco is a feast to my eyes already hehehehehe.

AGNES B. CAFE LE PAIN GRILLE

I think many people would know of Agnes B. as a fashion brand but probably do not know that they have a cafe! I saw one of their cafes the first time I went to Taiwan and told myself I have to visit their cafe when I go Taiwan again. And you bet I did!

AND ITS SO NICE AND YUMMY! *dreamy sighs*

There have a few branches. As for me, I went to the one at Breeze Centre. Nearest MRT station is also Zhongxiao Fuxing!

Rose Flavored Cafe Latte
THIS.IS.SO.GOOD.I.SWEAR.

Mummy!!! Can we fly back to Taiwan now to have this please?

Delices! The chocolate was really rich mmmmmm

My verdict: Go visit it if you are around the corner and in need of some afternoon recharge! A tad pricey but its worth it!

 CAFE 港

If you happen to take the Mao Kong gondola and head up to Mao Kong to visit, do consider this cafe! It's a cute cafe with some interesting desserts. Got me when I saw that they sell Tie Guan Ying ice cream. Total sucker for tea speaking.

Fruit tea & Kumquat tea.
Great thirst quencher after walking around under the hot sun.

Love this one! Such a good combination of sweet treats that I love add together.
Chocolate brownie and tie guan ying ice cream. How cool is that!

Strawberry shortcake with Matcha Green Tea.
This is yummy too. Love the biscuit crust of the cake.

& check out the nice view when we were leaving

The only downside of this cafe is again the minimum spending / pax. Other than that, it's pretty good

SOME CAT CAFE IN DAXI OLD STREET

HEHE sorry but I don't know how to read the cafe's name but here's the cafe name!

This cafe is located in Da Xi Old Street, Taoyuan. It's quite a distance (approx an hour travel time) from Taipei! But if you happen to be at the vicinity like us, consider it!

Mum's rosella tea or something.
I can't remember what she order hehe

My lavender tea in a super cute teapot!

Sister's Caramel Macchiato and Daddy's latte

The cute cat as seen advertised on their shop.
Super cute and lady-like looking hehe. Those eyes!

//

And okay, I shall stop here. This post took me such a long time. There's still some cafes that we visited in Taiwan, that shall be up in another post because I'm tired hehe.

Go be gluttons and have fun exploring the cafe scene in Taiwan!
